What to Expect at Your First Visit
The whole sequence, plainly: what to bring, the free initial consultation, recommendations, and your costs quoted before anything moves forward.
Visit Guide
Your First Chiropractic Visit Explained
First visits go better when you know the sequence, so here it is, exactly as it works at all three offices. No surprises is the operating principle: your initial consultation is free, and every cost is quoted before anything moves forward.
Before Arrival
Before you arrive
- Bring: A photo ID, your insurance card, any recent X-ray films on CD or MRI reports, and a list of your current medications
- Insurance: Call ahead and the team verifies what your plan covers before your visit, so the money conversation is settled before you walk in. The insurance and payment options page has the current carrier lists
- Car accident? Say so when you schedule; accident visits are booked as their own appointment type
- Doctor preference: Request a specific doctor when you schedule, or be placed by availability
Simple Steps
Your first visit, step by step
Consultation, free
You and the doctor talk through what brought you in: your symptoms, your history, what you have already tried.
Recommendations
Based on the consultation, the doctor recommends what comes next, which may include an exam, imaging, or treatment. Some patients do not need imaging on their first visit; if you already have imaging, bring it and it will be reviewed.
Your costs, quoted first
Before anything moves forward, your financial responsibility is quoted. Insurance patients know what their plan covers because it was verified before the visit; direct-pay patients can use cash, card, HSA, FSA, or CareCredit, and pricing options including the wellness membership are discussed at intake where they fit.
Care proceeds on your yes
Your plan is built around your findings, with checkpoints, and it changes if your progress stalls. If what you need is outside chiropractic care, you are told plainly and referred in the right direction.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
What should I bring to my first chiropractic visit?
A photo ID, your insurance card, any recent X-ray films on CD or MRI reports, and a list of your current medications. If you do not have imaging, that is fine; some patients do not need imaging on their first visit, and your doctor discusses it with you before anything is ordered.
What does the first visit cost?
Your initial consultation is free. If the doctor recommends an exam, imaging, or treatment, your financial responsibility is quoted before anything moves forward, so you decide with the numbers in front of you.
Can I choose which doctor I see?
Yes. When you schedule, you can request a specific doctor. If you have no preference, you are placed with the doctor whose availability best matches your timing, or whose focus best matches your needs.
Do I need imaging before I can be seen?
No. Bring any imaging you already have, and if imaging is needed, your doctor discusses it with you first. Some patients do not need imaging on their first visit.
What if my visit is for a car accident?
Mention that when you call. Accident-related visits are booked as their own appointment type so the doctor has the time a proper post-collision evaluation needs, and your findings and care are documented thoroughly.
